-Hand-wrapped, heat shrinkable corrosion protection tape

HWT60, heat shrinkable wrap-around tape is designed for corrosion protection and repairing of girth weld joint of buried and exposed steel pipelines, pipeline body, also for pipe bend, pipe elbow, fitting, riser and other irregular configurations.

HWT consist of a radiation cross-linked polyethylene backing, coated with a hot sensitive adhesive which effectively bonds to steel substrates and common pipelines coating, including polyethylene and fusion bonded epoxy. Epoxy primer is applied for HWT installation.

Construction:

First layer: Epoxy primer (CP-1/CP-2)

Second layer: High shear strength hot-melt copolymer adhesive

Third layer: Radiation cross-linked, high density polyethylene backing

Features & Benefits

HWT provides excellent resistance to cathodic disbondment resulting in effective long-term corrosion protection, the high performance cross-linked backing in

combination with a broad of adhesive can be undertaken for regular or high stress environments. Upon the application of heat, wrap around tape shrinks down to fully encapsulate the protected substrate, the hot melting adhesive flows into all surface irregularities forming a protective barrier against corrosion.
